Sparking Zero Neo Journey Stat Allocation — Six Parameters

Point distribution curves for Sparking Zero Neo solo progression.

Stat Allocation Guide

Every Limit Breaker Journey run in Super Limit-Breaking NEO asks you to grow beyond default move lists. As your SP rises, you earn points to distribute across six core parameters — offense, defense, Ki economy, blast power, mobility, and stamina-related bonuses (exact labels vary by character archetype in-game). This guide explains when to invest, when to hoard, and how allocation interacts with Battle Arts Builds and the SP Planner Tool.

Start with Limit Breaker Journey Guide if SP, stamina, and map nodes are still unfamiliar.

The six parameters (conceptual map)

Bandai Namco confirms six allocatable stats without always publishing identical names across locales. Wiki convention groups them as:

ParameterTypical effectWho needs it first
Melee offenseRush damage, combo scalingRushdown roster from Players Hub
Defense / guardDamage taken, guard stabilityJourney entries with low stamina HP penalty
Ki economyCharge speed, Ki pool efficiencyBeam builds pairing Ki Battle Arts
Blast powerProjectile and Blast damageZoners on Free Stage Variants
MobilityMovement, air optionsStratosphere and Kami’s Palace
Stamina / recoveryMap stamina efficiency, post-hit recoveryLong routes in Complete Journey Runs

Trust in-game names over this table when they differ — update notes on Updates Hub if patches rename parameters.

Early-run allocation (first third)

Goal: survive while securing your first Battle Art.

Recommended bias:

  • 40% defense + stamina-related stats — low travel stamina already cuts starting HP.
  • 30% Ki or melee depending on roster pick (NEO Roster Tier List).
  • 30% flexible — hold one milestone if a respec event is rumored on your map fork.

Avoid min-maxing burst offense before you equip any Art from Battle Arts Builds. An empty Art slot with glass-cannon stats is the most common early fail state.

Use SP Planner section 1 to log each milestone — Journey randomization hides patterns if you rely on memory alone.

Mid-run allocation (second third)

Goal: specialize toward your Art package.

Examples:

  • Ki Art + beam supers — shift new points heavily into Ki and blast; play on Clear Skies variant for sightline practice.
  • Melee Art + rush triggers — invest offense and mobility; lab on Rocky Land (White Valley).
  • Defensive Art + guard tank — defense and stamina; accept longer fights rather than elite SP spikes you cannot win.

Mid-run is also when enemy SP ratings jump. If your allocation lags, take training nodes instead of elites — Limit Breaker Journey covers EXP pacing.

Late-run allocation (final third)

Goal: commit to a win condition for the run boss.

  • Stop spreading points evenly — diluted builds lose to focused boss patterns.
  • Align with Sparking! Boost windows (Sparking Boost guide) if your finisher is mode-dependent.
  • If boss preview shows vertical arena, grab mobility even on zoning builds — Stratosphere ring-outs punish static defense.

Some events offer respec-like trades (stats for stamina, Arts for points, etc.). Accept respec when your Art pool changed your win condition; refuse when you are only one milestone from a slot unlock.

Stamina interaction (often ignored)

Map stamina is not one of the six combat parameters but shapes fights:

  • Moving costs stamina; Senzu Beans restore it fully per official producer materials.
  • Low stamina can reduce starting HP in the next battle while increasing EXP reward if you win — a risk/reward knob.

Stat allocation cannot fix zero Senzu planning. Pair stamina-related stat investment with rest nodes logged in SP Planner section 2.

Export to versus and offline

Bandai Namco states characters strengthened in Journey can enter offline battles and select online match types. Ranked eligibility remains unclear — Complete Journey Runs tracks mode tables.

Export checklist:

  1. Verify final stat spread matches your Art synergies (Battle Arts).
  2. Test on Tier List Hub matchup notes — stats do not fix hard counters.
  3. Add Costume Super Attacks separately; they are not Journey stats.
  4. Confirm July 29+ balance (Free Update) did not nerf your character family (notably Vegeta-wide adjustments at launch).

Copy templates into a notebook and annotate actual in-game results — two players using the same fighter should diverge by mid-run based on Arts offered.

Common mistakes

  1. Dumping all points into offense before Art slots fill.
  2. Ignoring mobility on vertical NEO stages.
  3. Chasing enemy SP without matching stat milestones — see planner danger column.
  4. Forgetting export mismatch — Journey stats help, but Controls execution still wins mirrors.
  5. Skipping respec events when your first two Arts were Ki-focused and you rolled melee teachers late.

  5. Complete Journey Runs

Stat allocation is where Journey feels like an RPG layered on Budokai-style combat. Plan phases, sync with Arts, and treat every SP milestone as a decision — not an autopilot click.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

How many stats can I allocate in Limit Breaker Journey?

Six core parameters. Points are earned as SP rises through battles and events. Exact in-game names may vary by character archetype.

Should I focus offense or defense early?

Early runs favor defense and stamina-related stats because low map stamina can reduce starting HP in the next fight.

Do allocated stats carry to online battles?

Journey-enhanced characters work in offline and select online modes per Bandai Namco. Complete Journey Runs lists export limits.

Can I respec stats mid-run?

Some events offer respec-like trades. Take them when your Battle Arts changed your win condition, not when you are one slot unlock away.

How does stat allocation relate to Battle Arts?

Arts assume certain investments — Ki Arts need Ki stats, melee Arts need offense. Align both systems via Battle Arts Builds.
